With this classroom strategy set a time limit of no more than 3 minutes for learners to write a response. The response could be something that they have learnt in class or something that they learnt in a previous lesson.
After the time has finished they share their responses and choose the best one to share with the class
They could combine their answers to formulate a new response that is a combination of all of their answers which is then shared with the whole class.
This is a good strategy for EAL learners because it allows them to write in a non threatening environment, they get to hear and respond to other pieces of writing and they get to improve their knowledge of the topic and the language required to write an answer.
